/ September 30, 2014 / 0 Comments

We asked our team why they love working at ZAG and this story really touched our hearts. The drive and dedication of the ZAG team never ceases to AMAZE us. We really are lucky to be able to come in every day and work with such talented and amazing people.

My name is Irfhan and I have been with ZAG for over 4 years as a Sales Account Manager. Upon hiring, I was assured if I worked extremely hard I would do very well and be rewarded substantially. So I worked extremely hard and after a couple years I saw financial returns that I had envisioned when I was hired, and saw great rewards as promised!

What really impressed me apart from the financial was when I was diagnosed with Non Hodgkins Lymphoma earlier this year. I had to undergo intensive chemotherapy that would keep my out of the office for a couple months. This actually ended up taking 4 months and the entire time the company showed full support and genuine care for my well being starting from the CEO all the way down to my colleagues.

I don’t know very many CEO’s that run $30 million dollar companies who would take the time out of their day to offer to see my full treatment protocol, put me in touch with one of the best cancer specialists in the world (University of Yale Cancer Center), and personally send a rep of a local juicing company to see me.

The rest of the management team allowed me to rest, work from home if I chose to and take as long as I needed to heal without any concern other than my health. I don’t remember a day that went my where I wouldn’t get an email or text from my colleagues asking how I was doing. Steve uses the concept of family many times and I definitely felt it during this challenge. I am happy to be back at work and in good health with ZAG!

Supporting and celebrating from the first kilometre to the last. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle in the midst of a rapidly growing business is key to balance, and we lean on each other to hold us accountable to show up everyday at 100%.
