Show up for success - make a difference! #theZAGway
ZAG Group is a proud contributor to TechPong 2015 raising over $72,000 for the Syrian Refugee Crisis.
Out of the 33 local tech companies in Vancouver, ZAG Group took the 1st prize for doubles ping pong!
TechPong has once again shown that the Vancouver tech community can get together, have fun, and make a real difference in the world. Chimp, a Vancouver-based tech company, challenged tech companies to raise funds internally to take part in the game.
On October 21, 2015 at the Imperial Theatre in Gastown, competitors battled it out amid a high-energy crowd, in the doubles competition Irfhan Rajan and Niaz Shamsi of ZAG beat out Hootsuite’s Connor Flynn and Ken Filgiano.
The Canadian Government matched all funds collected by this charity! ZAG’s contribution overall exceeded $5,000.
“TechPong is really about the industry coming together and making a collective impact while having some fun,”

Shoutout to our partners, Irfhan Rajan and Niaz Shamsi, who won the doubles ping pong!
This is what we call showing up for success. Being the ‘underdogs’ and competing for the first time, they did what it takes to show up 100%, because it was all for a great cause! #theZAGway
They practiced for two weeks on a community table in Chinatown during lunch hours. Niaz hadn’t played in 15 years, yet they both accepted the challenge, and made a commitment to support each other.
Excellence is a daily practice.
At ZAG, we support our team by cultivating opportunities for meaningful change.
Like the saying goes: “How you do anything – is how you do everything.”
Another good example is how ZAGsters supported each other through Vancouver’s Half Marathon this autumn. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle in the midst of a rapidly growing business is the key to balance, and we lean on each other to hold each other accountable to show up everyday at 100%.
“We all had doubts and good reasons to not run, but we all showed up; by doing so, we honoured our commitment to each other. Supporting and celebrating from the first kilometre to the last.”
– Gillian Buergin, ZAG Partner & VP of Operations
